Client sought to establish a familial relationship to a foreign national person intending to migrate to the United States. This petition is often times a prerequisite to a foreign national person obtaining a family-based greencard. Mrs. Huff prepared the appropriate Forms and presented sufficient evidence to USCIS and was able to get our client’s Petition for Alien Relative approved.

Client was charged with DUI in Hampton, VA. A conviction of DUI in Virginia can have consequences such as active and suspended jail time for a maximum of 12 months, suspension of your driver’s license for 12 months, installation of an ignition interlock system in your vehicle for a minimum of 6 months, a fine, alcohol and substance abuse education and/or treatment, demerit points on your driving record, increased auto-insurance rates and difficulties with employment. Mr. Huff presented mitigating evidence to the judge and was able to get our client's charge amended to Reckless Driving.

Client was charged with the criminal offense of Reckless Driving (87/55) in Virginia Beach, VA. If anyone is convicted at this speed, judges will strongly consider imposing an active jail sentence. Mr. Huff presented mitigating evidence to the judge and was able to avoid an active jail sentence for our client.

Foreign National client sought a renewal of her DACA application. The purpose of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (“DACA”) is to protect young undocumented foreign nationals who came to the United States when they were children from deportation and provide them with a work permit. Mrs. Huff prepared the appropriate Forms and presented sufficient evidence to USCIS and was able to get our client’s DACA Renewal application approved.

Client was charged with the criminal offense of Driving Under a Suspended License 10th Offense in Newport News, VA. If anyone within a 10-year period is convicted of a 3rd or subsequent offense of Driving Under a Suspended License, judges must impose a "mandatory minimum" active jail sentence of 10 days and a “mandatory” license suspension of up to 90 days. Mr. Huff successfully argued a pre-trial motion and was able to have our client’s charge dismissed.
